Kimber's Men: May 14th 2004

Kimber's Men comprise of Neil Kimber, the ship's bosun, John Bromley the ship's cook, Joe Stead the ship's doctor and Roger ‘Tonky’ Hepworth, the cabin boy and they brought their enthusiasm for sea songs including strong singing and humour in the shanties; a re-living of the heroism of Captain Benbow in the face of the French fleet; and the song written by Neil Kimber of a twentieth century tragedy where a lifeboat, whose crew comprised of only one member for each family as the conditions were so hazardous, attempted to make a rescue. Amid treacherous waves it was thought that the life-boat was crushed between the rocks and the ship they were attempting to reach. All men were lost both of the ship and lifeboat.

Their new CD See You When The Sun Goes Down is distributed by the RNLI, and a percentage of the profits goes to their funds.
