The Wilson Family
We are sure to have an evening of good honest singing, and a fair amount of banter too, when the Wilson family join us from Teesside. They are brothers Mike, Steve, Ken, Tom and Chris, and sister Pat.
This is a welcome return to the club for Mike who sang here with Damien Barber earlier in the year. Mike is returning to the Grove with Damien on January 23rd 2009
We recommend you come early, but we have purchased new chairs recently, so we should seat everybody comfortably!

Wilson Family: November 14th 2008
The Wilson family consists of sister Pat and brothers Tom, Chris, Steve, Ken and Mike, all members of the same family from Teeside in the North East of England.
Regarded by many as the foremost acappella group on the British Folk Scene, they sing traditionally oriented songs in unaccompanied harmony, like to have a bit of a laugh and wash it all down with a few odd pints.
They still record and release the odd album every now and again, the most recent being Stocking Tops - The Wilson Family Live (Pure Records PRCD51) produced by wonderful Mr. Steve Rusby.
A shy introverted group of individuals, they tend to let the songs do the talking. Thankfully, others have also spoken up in their favour.
The Northern Wilsonia - a vocal orchestra! Peter Bellamy (late, great, and sorely missed friend)
...They now stand apart as the foremost harmony group entertaining folk audiences today ...... Roy Harris
Singing with the Wilson Family in your company makes life so much easier! Louis Killen
There's a musical honesty about them that links past and present together. They are among the people who go about singing traditional songs that really move me ....They are what they are, they do what they do and say what they say, and it's very direct, and I love that. They are not pretenders. Dick Gaughan
